On the doorstep ….
The Black Horse Inn
Conveniently situated at the bottom of our drive, this has to be one of the most popular gastro pubs in Kent. A traditional, English country pub – lots of beams, log fires, conservatory, fine ales, country wines and local cider. The food is great too.
A ‘must’ for anyone who enjoys seafood, this restaurant has gained quite a following in the few years that is has been opened.
A varied, tasty menu awaits in this beamy, 17th Century Inn – beware the portions are huge!
A stylish pub with plenty of comfy chairs in which to sit and enjoy a drink and the food is pretty good too.
Three miles along the Pilgrim’s Way….
A beautiful 13th Century pub, it has been sympathetically refurbished and offers excellent food, friendly service, log fires and an abundance of beams. Can be walked to over the Downs or along the Pilgrim’s Way for lunch but better to drive in the evening. They also have some wonderful walking routes from here, details here or at the pub.
Now run by Richard Phillips who has worked alongside Michel Roux and Marco Pierre White, it goes without saying that the food is excellent and ambience friendly and relaxed.
